July 2009:

June 2009:

  • $250,000 settlement for a passenger in a van injured in a collision with a school bus.
  • Stephen R. Wigginton and Fredrick W. Keck successfully obtained a reversal of a summary judgment from the Fifth District of the Illinois Appellate Court on behalf of an individual against a corporation attempting to collect on a promissory note.
  • J. Brian Manion received the William J. Harte Amicus Volunteer Award from the Illinois Trial Lawyers Association for a brief filed with the Illinois Supreme Court advocating on behalf of victims of childhood sexual abuse.  

May 2009:

  • $700,000.00 wrongful death settlement for the estate of a seventy-six (76) year old man for claims brought against his physician and staff for medical negligence resulting in his death.
  • $435,000.00 settlement for an insured for claims brought against an insurance company for the failure to pay on a claim when an explosion/fire consumed the insured's home.

April 2009:

  • $1,800,000.00 settlement for the driver of a vehicle who sustained serious and life-threatening injuries after being run off the road by a tractor-trailer.
  • Filed three (3) new childhood sexual abuse cases in St. Clair County Court against the Catholic Diocese of Belleville on behalf of parishioners who were sexually abused by Diocesan priests while they were minors.

February 2009:

  • $700,000.00 wrongful death settlement for the estate of a truck driver for claims brought against the school that instructed/trained the driver, alleging that it negligently and fraudulently instructed him in the operation of a tractor-trailer.
